Program details:
Award-winning documentary film follows the food rescue experiences of two filmmaker/food lovers (75 minutes).
Douglass DeCandia will explain how dietitians can help limit food waste and provide to those in need.
Objectives:
- To understand the multi-faceted detrimental effects of wasted food.
- To discuss alternatives, e.g. composting, that makes better use of our food supply.
- To understand how community involvement can promote a sustainable food system and ways RD's can help to promote this.

Please bring food items to donate for the Food Bank of Westchester - something that you would feed your children or eat yourself. Donate non-perishable food items with label stating low sodium, unsweetened, packed in 100% fruit juice, etc. Food items may include beans, cereal, canned meat/fish, milk (shelf stable), canned meals (low sodium), canned vegetables (low sodium), canned or dried fruits, peanut butter, pasta and rice.
